Public comments requested on the Survey of Inmates in Local Jails

BJS encourages comments for 60 days on the Survey of Inmates in Local Jails, a previously approved data collection. This survey generates reliable, nationally representative estimates of the characteristics of jail inmates in the United States, tracks changes in the characteristics of jail inmates over time, conducts studies of jail inmates on special topics, and identifies policy-relevant issues related to crime and corrections. 

Submit your comments to the Office of Management and Budget through the Federal Register by May 13, 2024.
