A safe and supportive school environment for students with allergies is critical for their safety and learning. NASN's School Nursing Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline: Students with Allergies and Risk for Anaphylaxis provides best practice recommendations and strategies to assist school nurses in their role in implementing high-quality care and improving the health and safety of the school-aged child at risk for an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis. Preschool/Early Childhood Solar Eclipse Eye Health Education With the 2024 solar eclipse less than a month away, now is the time to educate your students and promote eye safety. Prevent Blindness has partnered with the East Coast Migrant Head Start Project to offer eye safety education to help young children and their families in migrant communities learn about solar eclipses and how to view them safely. School nurses can request the Preschool and Early Childhood Solar Eclipse Lesson and Book available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.
