They’re environmental activists. Former slaughterhouse workers. Politicians. Veterinarians. Members of the Cherokee Nation. Animal advocates.
They’re Oklahomans. And they’re fighting back against a growing threat to their state: factory farming.
I'm thrilled to share a first-of-its-kind documentary from The Humane League: Common Enemy.
In 2022, our team traveled to Oklahoma, where residents have been fighting back against the harmful effects of industrial animal agriculture on their communities. They’re fighting for clean drinking water. For the land their families have stewarded for generations. And for the 220 million animals who suffer on factory farms in their state every year.
I’d like to thank the members of our Video team—Adam, José, and Angel—who brought Common Enemy to life. I’d like to thank our board member, Mark, who provided stunning animations. And I’d like to thank the courageous Oklahomans who are the reason this documentary exists.
I’d also like to thank you. It’s because of people like you—coming together from all corners of the world—that I’m confident we can create a food system built on compassion, not cruelty. Together.
Now... grab your popcorn and dim the lights!
