Congress needs to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act immediately. Safeguarding our right to vote should be their top priority. These two pieces of critical legislation will strengthen the protections outlined in the original Voting Rights Act.

Our leaders must act now to create nationwide voting standards, improve voting access, end partisan and race-based gerrymandering, and enforce campaign finance transparency regulations.
