Washington DC – Earlier this week, Congressional candidate and former Delegate Neil Parrott joined Grover Norquest, President of Americans for Tax Reform, to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
Delegate Parrott indicated that, “I signed this pledge 12 years ago when running for the Maryland House of Delegates and kept my word.”

He went on to say that, “ In 12 years, I never voted for a tax or fee increase, but instead worked to stop them and to stop unnecessary and exorbitant spending increases. I’m thankful to have been able to re-sign the pledge with the originator of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, Grover Norquest.”

Grover Norquest indicated that, “We created the pledge at Ronald Reagan’s request so that all elected officials could make this commitment to voters and let voters know before the election what their plans are for taxes.” He continued by thanking Neil Parrott for this commitment to the voters and taxpayers of Maryland.

Parrott believes that the voters deserve to know what their candidates will do. He is th e only candidate for Congress in District 6 to take the pledge, and he invites the remainder of the field both Republican and Democrat, to sign the pledge as well.

By signing this pledge, Delegate Parrott promises to continue to work to let Americans keep more of their own money.

Americans for Tax Reform is a national taxpayer organization dedicated to opposing any and all tax increases. They work for lower taxes, less government spending and limited government, exactly what Delegate Parrott indicates on many of his campaign signs, “Lower Taxes, Less Government, and More Jobs.
