Hey y’all.
I’m just returning from a semi-sabbatical in Brazil that was both unexpected and totally on time. I was called to Brazil to continue my own journey of American Detox. I wanted to better understand how cultures of domination are playing out beyond the US; examine the violence and impact of the American gaze (and how I’ve internalized that in my own work); explore the deep practices of resistance and healing that are embedded in Brazil’s history and culture. And I wanted to be a student again…to learn and unlearn, to get lost in translation, to be humbled by not knowing and to allow myself to experience awe. The definition of awe is a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder. It is the breath held, body at attention and mind focused on bearing witness to the beautiful and often complex reality right in front of us.
I am still integrating and finding my words for this experience and will share more as I emerge, but it was definitely the chiropractic adjustment that I needed to unlock new questions and spaces of practice. Here’s what’s emerging for me in 2024:
- What are the edges of my discomfort? Where am I growing? Where am I stuck?
- What are the conditions that allow me to see and feel more clearly the space beyond my constructed experience?
- How do we with+stand this transition and navigate the in-between from where we are coming from and where we are going?
- How do we build a tolerance for the constancy of change and uncertainty?
- How do we balance hope and despair?
- What does it look like to meet each moment with awe and the presence of a powerful response?
What I know now more than ever - in the face of endless violence, accelerating crises, chaotic and compromised elections and more - is that we need each other, we need to be ready for whatever, and we need to cultivate greater capacity and creativity to heal forward and shape a different future. Join me this year as we live into the questions and prepare ourselves for what’s next. Here's where you can find me:

The call for white people to “do the work” is a serious one. Not just because of the historical and present, pervasive and persistent, embodied and systemic impact of white supremacy on Black and Brown people, but because it threatens our democracy, our planet and our humanity as a whole. White supremacy is bad for all of us.
Unlearning Whiteness* is a virtual space designed for well-meaning white people who are ready to reckon with how we’re implicated in the system of white supremacy and what it's going to take to detox our body/mind and heal our humanity.
Through embodied practice, radical inquiry and courageous conversation, we will explore how we got here, where we are situated in unequal systems, how we’ve internalized dominant culture, what white supremacy is costing us and what our right role/responsibility is in getting free.
*In collaboration with Embodied Social Justice Certificate, a 3 month program for people who are serious about social justice and collective liberation featuring rev Angel kyodo williams, Dr Angel Acosta, Resmaa Manakem, Patrisse Cullers, Dr Ruby Gibson, Staci Haines, Dr Kelsey Blackwell and more (including me:).

We are in the midst of a powerful turning - still untangling ourselves from the wounds of the past while trying to grow into who we are meant to be in the world. So many of us are feeling the power of this shift on a personal and collective level. All of us - maiden, mothers, enchantresses, crones - hold the power of transition - creativity and rebirth. Honoring this cycle of creation - conception, gestation, birth and release - and our place in it will determine what’s next and what’s possible.
WOMB is a ritual and retreat for women who are ready to own their power and place in the world. Our journey will be supported and inspired by majestic desert habitat of Joshua Tree, CA, nourishing plant based meals, replenishing self care practices and guided ritual. Through embodied movement, radical inquiry, rituals of remembering and reclaiming and mutual support and care, we will awaken our feminine power to hold change and birth new worlds for ourselves and each other.
