Medical debt is a widespread issue due to our broken healthcare system.
Too many people have hundreds or thousands of dollars in medical bills,
which can be used against their consumer credit scores.

No one should have to choose between putting food on the table, affording
their rent/mortgage, or paying these bills.

Credit reporting threats are the most common form of debt collection that
hospitals and other healthcare providers use to get patients to pay bills.
But Rob is sponsoring a bill to stop that.

This week, California State Senator Monique Limón introduced SB 1061:
legislation that would prevent healthcare providers and collection
agencies from sharing patients’ medical debt information with credit
reporting agencies.

Rob is sponsoring this bill to stop medical debt from further hurting
already struggling patients strapped with healthcare bills.
