WE WON! READ THE NEWS HERE! ([link removed])

Dear John,

Tonight has seen a huge victory take place for animals!!!

We are beyond ecstatic to report that there will be no new zoo in Trowell, Nottinghamshire! ✊ 🎉

And it's all thanks to your hard work and support!

This evening the Broxtowe Borough Council Planning Committee returned a decision that planning permission would NOT be granted for the so-called ‘Broxtowe Retreat’. This zoo was frequently marketed as a ‘sanctuary’, but we know, like you, that true sanctuaries do not breed animals or seek to profiteer from them. 💔 🦒 🦁
Tonight, Freedom for Animals handed in the 5205 signatures from all of YOU who stood up for animals and signed in opposition of the plans.

We then stood alongside compassionate local residents and activists from Animal Rising, Nottingham Animal Rights, and Hunt Saboteurs from Nottingham, Sheffield and surrounding areas, to call on councillors to do the right thing, and reject the damaging plans which would have devastated the biodiversity of the area and caused suffering to the animals held captive there.

And they did not let us down! 9 councillors opposed the plans, compared to 2 who approved. Thank you for prioritising nature and wildlife Broxtowe Council!

We would like to take the opportunity to thank every one of you who has given your time to this important campaign - by objecting to the planning proposal, signing the petition, or donating to support our actions from the office to the streets of Broxtowe.

And a huge thank you to the amazing animal protection groups such as Animal Rising, Born Free and 'No Zoo in Trowell #NZIT' who joined us in this fight.

It is because of our joined dedication, and the support of our incredible supporters and donors, that no new cages will be constructed on this site in Trowell - into which innocent animals would have been forced to spend their entire lives just to be part of a tourist attraction. So from us and the animals....thank you!!!

HELP US WIN MORE VICTORIES! ([link removed])

We are elated at this huge win for freedom, but we are aware the fight is far from over! If we are needed in the future to oppose any possible appeals, we will be there. Until all cages are opened, we will be here, fighting for animal freedom.

But we cannot do it without you, so from the bottom of my heart - thank you for all your support in this important campaign. I will keep you updated on any news moving forward!

For the animals
