Here are some recent updates.
* The newly liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court will reconsider ([link removed]) a decision banning ballot drop boxes in the state made by the court's previous conservative majority. This ruling could have big implications for the 2024 election.
* On the heels of a recent shakeup in its senior leadership, the Republican National Committee filed ([link removed]) a federal lawsuit in Michigan seeking to purge allegedly “ineligible” voters from the rolls before the November election.
* A federal lawsuit ([link removed]) challenging North Carolina's strict voter ID law will head to trial on May 6, 2024. The North Carolina NAACP argues the law disproportionately burdens Black and Latino voters, violating the Voting Rights Act and U.S. Constitution.
* A judge dismissed ([link removed]) six of 41 charges against former President Donald Trump and allies in the Georgia election subversion case. Trump still faces 10 charges. The state can appeal the decision to dismiss or ask a grand jury to re-indict the defendants on the charges.
* The Maine Legislature sent ([link removed]) a bill to the governor to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, a workaround to the Electoral College where participating states pledge to award all of their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote.

* Tomorrow is the deadline for Republican U.S. Senate candidate and failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake — along with fellow election denier Mark Finchem — to appeal their lawsuit ([link removed]) challenging the use of voting machines in Arizona to the U.S. Supreme Court.
+ In October 2023, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the dismissal of the lawsuit for lack of standing, but the election-denying duo is expected to take their case to the nation's highest court.
