Hey John,

 

After so many years working in the community as Congressman Denny Heck’s District Director, and now as a candidate for Congress, I got accustomed to visiting different corners of our district during every work week. I miss those visits now, and I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with my friends and neighbors throughout the South Sound and getting back to work. We will all come through this tough time together, but there is no substitute for science -- and right now, science says we all need to stay home.

 

Now more than ever, we can see how important it is that our government works for us and that we have competent leaders -- of every generation -- who put lives before profits or politics. I’m running for Congress not to play it safe but because I believe deeply that the government should use its power to solve big problems like the climate emergency, fixing our broken healthcare system, and keeping families and small businesses afloat who need our help right now.

 

That’s the work I’ve done alongside Congressman Denny Heck for nearly a decade. But with Denny Heck retiring from Congress, we need someone new to fill his shoes -- an experienced, thoughtful leader who knows our district and who will be ready on Day One to keep building on what Denny Heck started.

 

I’ve got the experience, know-how, and record of service to fill Denny Heck’s shoes, but I need your help to win this election and serve in Congress.

 

This is a grassroots campaign fueled by momentum, excitement, and big ideas. But our campaign is only as strong as its support from people like you, people who care just as deeply about our future. Tomorrow marks the first FEC filing deadline of our campaign -- the most important deadline we’ve had yet -- but we are way behind our FEC fundraising goal. 

 

If we can raise $1,870 more by midnight tomorrow, our public FEC report will show that we hit our goal and that our campaign is building the coalition we need to win in November.
