Hoosiers broke this record in January, February, and March – and we broke it again in June.
More Hoosiers than ever before are working in Indiana’s private sector - 2.75 million!
In 2019, hard-working Hoosiers have taken economic opportunities and run with them. This record is a testament to the work ethic that exists in each and every one of Indiana’s 92 counties.
Gov. Holcomb is extremely proud of the progress Indiana’s economy has made this year – and it’s living proof that what we’re doing is working. Our state’s record job commitments and Gov. Holcomb’s Next Level workforce initiatives are helping Hoosiers rise higher than ever.
And under Governor Holcomb’s leadership, Indiana is a national (and global!) leader for our business climate, which is allowing more Hoosiers to find more work, more quickly. Indiana’s unemployment rate stands at 3.5% – below the national average and below ALL neighboring states.
But he’s isn’t satisfied yet. Gov. Holcomb will continue to focus on helping more and more Hoosiers share in Indiana’s prosperity.
