Every day, we live with the reality of an unsecured border. 

The challenges we face are not just headlines in the news; they are the lived experiences of our communities. Some proposals have merely been a band-aid on a gaping wound — none are lasting solutions.

Even worse, the Biden administration's “strategy” of prioritizing comfort over security, sends a dangerous message that our borders are open for all. This is not the path to security or sovereignty. 

Under President Biden's watch, we've witnessed an unprecedented surge in illegal crossings, jeopardizing our communities, overwhelming our border patrol, and undermining the rule of law. The administration's policies have effectively rolled out the welcome mat for illegal immigration, with disastrous consequences for national security and public safety.

We need decisive action, not tepid responses. 

Real change is possible. With straightforward actions like ending catch and release and reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy, we can take back control. These aren't radical ideas; they're common-sense solutions that have been dismantled and caused our current crisis.

That’s why I supported the Laken Riley Act – a crucial piece of legislation that will require ICE to detain illegal immigrants charged with theft or burglary. Laken Riley was a nursing student at the University of Georgia whose life was taken too soon by an illegal immigrant. Tragedies like these are a result of poor leadership from the Biden administration.

Additionally, my recent bill to combat high-speed car chases — which has already passed the House — is another example of targeted legislation that addresses specific issues head-on.
