Dear Neighbors,

Thank you to everyone who attended our Maplewood Town Hall last Thursday. We appreciated your thoughtful questions and the excellent discussion. Your participation in the town hall was a reminder of how important it is when constituents weigh in on what we do at the Capitol!

As session moves toward our adjournment date of May 20, we continue to focus on a legislative agenda putting Minnesota families first. My priority is to work side-by-side with you to build stronger communities for all Minnesotans, ensuring everyone can succeed.

Legislative Survey

Listening to my constituents is the most important part of my job as your state representative. Please take a few minutes to fill out my 2024 legislative survey [ [link removed] ]. Your responses will help me more fully understand your viewpoints, concerns, and values. Thank you for making your voice heard!

Committee Work

In committee we are hearing many bills ? into the evenings in some cases ? during the next two weeks, as our first and second committee deadlines approach on March 22. The Human Services Policy Committee [ [link removed] ], which I chair, will hear many measures related to helping those with disabilities, assisted living, substance abuse disorders and behavioral health. This is meaningful work and I thank everyone who travels to the Capitol to testify and provide input on these important issues.

Post-9/11 Service Bonus

Any Minnesota Veteran who served between September 11, 2001, and August 30, 2021, may be eligible for a Post-9/11 Service Bonus. More than 20,000 Minnesota Veterans who served in the Global War on Terrorism have already received bonuses in recognition of their service.__

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is distributing nearly $39.8 million in bonuses. Eligible Veterans are paid on a first-come, first-served basis, so Veterans should apply today before the funds are gone. *Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2024*, or until funding is exhausted.
