Climate change is the most crucial challenge facing our country and the world. Carbon dioxide emissions are the highest they’ve been in 4 million years ([link removed]) and we’re already feeling the impacts. Extreme weather events including drought, wildfires, heat waves, hurricanes, and flooding are getting worse and happening more frequently. The urgency to act on climate change only grows each year.

The Biden Administration has made huge steps to provide the resources to fight global warming, but we just need to use it!

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) directed an unprecedented $369 billion to help Americans pay for more than a dozen types of energy saving purchases and clean energy projects. If Americans take advantage of these discounts, the IRA would help us reduce our climate emissions by 40% below 2005 levels by 2030.

So we are working to educate our families, friends, and community members about ways they can benefit from these programs! Between now and Youth Earth Week - our goal is to educate thousands of people about these opportunities to save money and save the environment. Here is our plan! ([link removed])

Join us for our team calls Wednesday @ 6pm ET ([link removed])

By educating at least 25 and attending 3 national campaign actions/meetings/webinars, you will receive the Student PIRGs Climate Ambassador Award you can add to your LinkedIn Profile and be recognized during our Youth Earth Week (4/22 - 4/26).

As an Ambassador we will provide resources and help you make a plan to educate your friends and family in the coming months. Prizes like t-shirts, hats, gift cards, and a pizza party will be awarded to those who can educate the most people between now and Youth Earth Week! We will have fun activities like a March Madness for Climate Competition and national webinars & trainings to help you with your organizing.
