Happy Wednesday, John! Wednesdays are important here in my Washington D.C. office and I’ll explain why.
At 9 AM on just about every Wednesday when the Senate is in session, we serve coffee and the best blueberry bread you could imagine to any and all Maine people who are visiting the Capitol.
We even have a map of Maine in the office with pins for each hometown because people come from all over for blueberry bread Wednesdays! People visit D.C. for all kinds of reasons — from conferences to sightseeing — but no matter why they’re visiting, I’m happy to provide them with a little taste of Maine hundreds of miles from home. And the best part? Getting to chat with fellow Maine people and hear their stories.
We’re living in divisive times, John. Now more than ever we need opportunities like this to bring us together. And, as an Independent in Congress, bringing people together is what I aim to do every day.
John: While I’d love to put all of my energy into blueberry bread and my work in Congress, I also have to raise money for my re-election campaign. Friday is my Mid-Month Fundraising Deadline, and with the really critical End-of-Quarter Deadline coming up, it’s important we don’t fall behind. Will you help me continue to bring Maine values to Congress with a donation of $10 or $25 today?
Sincerely,
Angus
P.S. If you’re ever in D.C. on a Wednesday morning, come say hi! And yes, the blueberries are from Maine.
