MI Home Energy Rebate Program
EGLE hosting in-person and virtual input sessions to prepare for federal home energy rebate funding
The Home Efficiency Rebates will provide funding to lower the upfront cost of whole-home energy efficiency upgrades in single-family and multi-family homes aiding retrofitting and electrification efforts. The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates will help finance the upfront cost of efficient electric technologies in single-family and multi-family homes.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE) is holding virtual and in-person engagement sessions to gain input from stakeholders on a strategic, equitable, and wholistic implementation of the DOE HER Programs in Michigan.
During these sessions EGLE is requesting stakeholder engagement, feedback, and input on:
- Proposed deployment plans ? target audience (location and income level), concierge model, regional implementors, etc.
- Supporting meaningful community and labor engagement.
- Engaging and supporting a skilled and qualified workforce.
- Advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- Contributing to the Justice40 Initiative with the goal that 40% of the overall benefits of certain federal investments flow to disadvantaged communities.
Public Input Sessions
EGLE will host a mix of virtual and in-person engagements sessions across Michigan to diversify input, discuss localized context, and to accommodate those that could not make regional in-person meetings. The agenda will start with education around the DOE HER Programs, with most of the session focused on hearing top priorities in your community, barriers to implementation, and environmental justice considerations in formulating potential implementation projects.
