Summer has made a bold decision to stand up for our values by taking the
Reject AIPAC Pledge. This pledge is a commitment to not accept
endorsements or contributions from AIPAC and/or aligned PACs because our
movement is not for sale to the highest bidder. You know you can always
count on Summer to do the right thing, and she is proving it time and time
again.
Here's why this is so important:
Bipartisan facade, right-wing funding: Despite claiming bipartisanship,
[ [link removed] ]9 of the top 10 donors to AIPAC’s Super PAC are Republican billionaires
and Donald Trump’s megadonors.
Dark money, dark influence: AIPAC's network has managed to influence the
vast majority of Congress, targeting specifically young, Black and brown
progressive champions. More than 85% of their Super PAC's spending has
been against candidates of color, showcasing a disturbing pattern of
interference in Democratic primaries.
Support for extremism: Astonishingly, AIPAC has backed 109 Republican
insurrectionists who denied the 2020 election results and more than 200
anti-abortion extremists who support the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
They've even praised figures like Mitch McConnell, who single handedly
shifted our entire judicial system to the far-right, while obstructing
progress in the Senate.
AIPAC operates in the same ways the NRA does by buying out our politicians
with big money and then putting the pressure on them to vote how they
want, even at the expense of the American people. We have to reject this
kind of manipulation and reclaim our democracy.
It's time to push back against organizations like AIPAC and the NRA, which
prioritize their own right-wing interests over the well-being and values
of everyday Americans. By standing together and supporting leaders who
refuse to be swayed by big money, we can ensure our voices are heard and
our votes count. But we can't do this alone. With Summer Lee directly in
their crosshairs, we really need your support.
As the election approaches, we're reminded of the stakes involved. We're
