The U.S. maternal mortality rates continue to rise year over year – a statistic that should be unimaginable in the most advanced country in the world. Over 80% of maternal deaths are preventable, but Black mothers are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than their White counterparts. This is not acceptable.
