Hi friend,

Even Democrats fight every day for our country, Donald Trump meets with autocratic pals like Victor Orbán of Hungary.  He continues to praise his dictator friends including Orbán, Xi Jinping of China, Tayyip Erdogon of Turkey, Kim Jong Un of North Korea, and the murderous dictator of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

Their plan is his plan and this is how democracy dies:

1) Hand picking far-right judges that don't follow the constitution

2) Attacking the free press

3) Curtailing voting rights

4) Taking over the apparatus of a political party (Trump's daughter-in-law is now co-chair of the Republican National Committee)  

5) Building a cult of personality

Make no mistake about it — democacy is in grave peril here and abroad! (Trump just told Orbán that he will stop funding aid to Ukraine.)

And this is why my congressional race is so important:

1) It's one of the few flippable seats in Congress.

2) Winning this race is key to taking back the House, and giving Democrats the "power of the purse" to stop Trump's authoritarian agenda should he win.

3) Winning this seat helps to ensure we dismantle the GOP's efforts to dismantle free and fair elections, as I work with my Democratic colleagues to pass the Freedom to Vote Act.
