IGNITE the Capitol days open students’ eyes to the power they hold as advocates. Let me tell you a story about my first IGNITE the Capitol trip to Sacramento…

Make Advocacy Accessible!
([link removed] )

Hi John,

During my very first IGNITE the Capitol trip to Sacramento back in 2014, I saw a student eating ice cream with Shirley Weber, California’s current Secretary of State.

IGNITE the Capitol days teach participants that legislators are human beings who want to connect with us. We remove the barrier between young women and our government, allowing students to foster real connections with the legislative process that drive them into a lifetime of civic participation and advocacy.

While legislators are accessible to the public, the cost of transportation to reach them is inaccessible to many. Will you please donate to help us bring more young women to IGNITE the Capitol and make this advocacy experience accessible to all?

Over the past decade, IGNITE the Capitol has grown into something more than we ever could have imagined. Now IGNITE has a full-fledged policy agenda and participants learn firsthand how their advocacy impacts the legislative process.

This message from Lindsey Cormack, one of our valued donors, describes the impact she felt at our recent IGNITE the Capitol day in Albany, New York:

Thank you for your consideration and commitment to building a pipeline of young women who are ready and eager to own their political power!

With gratitude,
