Rep. Emilia Sykes Wins Endorsement from Defend The Vote

Defend The Vote is dedicated to passing protecting voting rights and defending democracy
Akron, OH - Rep. Emilia Sykes today has earned the endorsement of Defend The Vote (DTV), one of the nation’s leading and most influential pro-democracy organizations.

“Every Ohioan in the 13th Congressional District deserves to have their voices heard and votes counted,” Sykes said. “I’m fighting to protect the freedom to vote, hold accountable anyone who attacks our free and fair elections or advocates for political violence. I am grateful to have Defend The Vote partnering with us in this fight and thankful for their support."

Sykes is a leader in the U.S. House of Representatives on protecting and expanding the right to vote, ending dark money, and ensuring democracy works for everyone. She has cosponsored the Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and supports funding for local election workers to run safe and accessible elections without threat of harassment or intimidation and to prevent the spread of misinformation. Her work in Congress is pivotal to passing legislation that protects every American’s right to vote in safe, accessible, transparent elections.
