Friend — If we don't act now, Big Polluters could destroy the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge forever.
Two years ago, Republican leaders shamefully sold out the Arctic Refuge for oil and gas drilling. Since then, the Trump administration has been rushing to lease this land to Big Polluters.
Now we have a real opportunity to stop their pro-polluter agenda in its tracks. In just a few weeks, the House will vote on the Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act — which restores protections against drilling in the Refuge. But we need the help of LCV supporters like you to get it across the finish line.

SUBMIT A MESSAGE TO CONGRESS:
"Instead of moving forward with drilling, we must protect the Arctic Refuge. The Refuge is critical to the Porcupine Caribou herd and the indigenous Gwich'in people, and we cannot allow Big Polluters to destroy it."

The Gwich'in people call the Refuge the "Sacred Place Where Life Begins." Drilling in this area would tear apart land and ecosystems they have stewarded and relied on for millennia.
Opening the Arctic Refuge to Big Polluters would be the Trump administration disregarding indigenous rights to give a handout to Big Polluters.
This fight is so important to all of us at LCV because
protecting the Arctic Refuge and Gwich'in way of life is a matter of basic human rights. But we need your help to get this legislation across the finish line.
You and I know that drilling in the Arctic Refuge would cause immense damage to this national treasure — damage we could never reverse. As the Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act moves toward a vote, it's critical that our members of Congress know where we stand.
This is a matter of human rights: Protect the Arctic Refuge for generations to come »
Thank you for continuing to stand with the Gwich'in people and fight to protect the Arctic Refuge.
