Changes to ‘walk-in services’
Walk-in services across Oldham will change temporarily to protect patients, staff and the wider local community. The walk-in centre based at the Integrated Care Centre (ICC), New Radcliffe Street, Oldham OL1 1NL, is now closed until further notice.

New coronavirus assessment hub
The Integrated Care Centre in Oldham will now care 24/7 for patients with potential coronavirus symptoms. Through the Hub patients can be given advice over the phone, telephone, video and face-to-face consultations or GP home visits where and when appropriate.
The service is only for people who have potential coronavirus symptoms and are unwell, but do not need emergency care. Access to the service is via your GP or after contacting NHS 111.
In the first instance patients are encouraged to seek advice online via
www.111.nhs.uk ([link removed][UNIQID]) , or NHS 111 or ring their GP practices.

Dr John Patterson, Oldham CCG Chief Clinical Officer
“These are extraordinary times and the situation has changed quickly over the last few weeks. In order to prevent the spread of the virus, we need to develop and adapt our services to keep patients, staff and the wider community safe.
“The Hub gives patients with potential COVID-19 symptoms the opportunity to gain advice or see a primary care professional, knowing that they are in a safe and dedicated environment.
“These changes are in response to the unprecedented outbreak and are paramount to helping to prevent the spread of the virus.”

GP practices in Oldham are open as usual
They can be contacted over the phone or online. Clinicians will continue to provide care over the phone or by video consultations. GP practices will still be arranging prescriptions, diagnosing and referring into services where needed.

Helpline – 0161 770 7007
Team Oldham is coordinating emergency food and other essential personal and household basic items to people in need. This is for people who are unable to leave the house and don’t have a trusted friend, neighbour or family member to help them. The helpline is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 11am to 2pm on weekends.
Delivery of prescriptions and medicines will be handled separately by local pharmacies who will be contacting people on GP lists.
The support is for those who are genuinely in emergency need.
Councillor Sean Fielding, leader of the council, talks about the importance of the helpline ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

New temporary bin services during coronavirus
Oldham Council is temporarily introducing weekly general waste collections from Monday, March 30.
Only put out your grey bin by 7am on your usual collection day. No other bins will be collected for the time being.
Put all of your waste materials -– including food and recyclable materials – into your grey rubbish bin. If your grey bin is not emptied, take it back into your property and put it back out the following week on your usual collection day.
