Last Thursday, the President delivered his State of the Union address. Yet it was more like Joe Biden’s State of Delusion.
President Biden kicked off his remarks by discussing Ukraine, January 6th, and abortion. In other words, three topics the American people care very little about — especially compared to inflation, illegal immigration, and crime.
While there was no shortage of spin, deflection, and lies, Biden’s remarks were completely deprived of truth, transparency, and accountability. A prime example is the President’s calculated failure to mention the three American soldiers — all Georgians — who were tragically killed in a drone attack carried out by Iran-backed proxies in Jordan back in January.
Notably, this was also Biden’s third State of the Union address with zero mention of the 13 U.S. troops killed during the Biden Administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal. As you may know, a Gold Star parent rightly called out our Commander-in-Chief for intentionally ignoring these American heroes. Steve Nikoui, the father of a U.S. Marine who was killed during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, yelled out “Abbey Gate! Second Battalion, First Marines!” repeatedly to President Biden before being removed from the chamber. God Bless the Nikouis and all our Gold Star families forgotten by the Biden Administration.
Unsurprisingly, it took the President roughly 40 minutes before he even mentioned the raging border crisis. As expected, he blamed Republicans for the illegal invasion he created on day one of his presidency. Yet the most shameful part of his remarks related to immigration wasn’t the obnoxious gaslighting.
As Biden discussed his failed mass amnesty bill, Congresswoman and fellow Georgian Marjorie Taylor Greene shouted out “What about Laken Riley? Say her name!” A rattled Joe Biden then held up a “Say Her Name, Laken Riley” button — then proceeded to mispronounce it. “Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed. By an illegal. That’s right.”
The immediate response to this exchange was quite telling.
Minutes after the blunder, Republicans blasted the President for disrespecting Laken Riley’s memory. Yet Democrats quickly criticized Biden for referring to Laken’s murderer as an “illegal.”
You just can’t make this stuff up.
In response to the Left’s absurd outrage, Biden reversed course over the weekend during an interview with MSNBC. The President not only admitted that he regrets using “illegal” instead of “undocumented,” but went on to add that illegal aliens “built the country” and are the “reason our economy is growing.”
Folks, this is pure evil. President Biden should be apologizing to Laken Riley’s parents for his open border policies — yet he’s apologizing to the criminal illegal alien who brutally murdered their daughter. This disgusting act of cowardice proves that the President’s priority is illegal aliens, not the American people.
Please know that while Joe Biden remains in a State of Delusion, my Republican colleagues and I will continue holding his Administration accountable and fighting to get our country back on track.
