Just when we thought things couldn't get any stranger in the Fourth Congressional District race here in Colorado, another curve ball gets thrown: 

Rep. Ken Buck, who had announced he would retire at the end of his term this year, announced today that he would instead be resigning from Congress at the end of next week.

Rep. Buck's retirement, and now his early departure, signals just how toxic the House GOP is right now. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a figure of increasing prominence in the party, said there were "knives out" for Buck after he vocally fought back against the GOP's embrace of Trump's destructive election lies.

A special election for the seat must now be held at Gov. Jared Polis' direction.

We know that Boebert will not give up on her cowardly decision to abandon her current district and carpetbag in CO-04. We need to be prepared for her to try and win the nomination for this special election—if she is selected and wins, she will be on a glide path to winning the general election in November.
