Hi John — I was reading the New York Times this weekend, and saw an excerpt that I really wanted to share with you. It’s a little bit of a long read, but it is super important:
Of the 16 House districts won by Mr. Biden but currently in Republican hands, five are in California, making the state a linchpin of the party’s hopes of retaking the chamber, where Republicans currently hold a three-seat majority. “It’s going to come down to these tossups, and Democrats would have to win around two-thirds of them to take the majority,” said Erin Covey, the House analyst at the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. [...] Democrats would need five seats to win control of the House, and their prime California targets are the districts held by Mr. Valadao and Representatives John Duarte, Mike Garcia and Michelle Steel. We are now officially in the General Election, and Democrats’ hopes of flipping the U.S. House Majority rests on tossup seats right here in California. Don’t take it from me, take it from the New York Times!
There are vulnerable Republicans up and down our state, so the House Majority is 100% in our reach . BUT we have to be able to fully fund all of our candidates — we can’t afford to cut back support in even a single one.
That’s why I am asking: Will you rush a donation of $ or $ so that as we put together our General Election budget, we can fully fund every single tossup district in California? [[link removed]]
