Hi Friend,

Did you know that each year in Nevada, women typically earn significantly
less than men in comparable roles?

According to recent data, the wage gap — the amount that women earn less
than their white, male counterparts — is staggering: Latina women earn
$26,899 less, Black women earn $22,521 less, Indigenous women earn $25,487
less, Asian American women earn $17,394 less, and white women earn $15,141
less.

Today, we we mark Equal Pay Day, it's time to address this injustice
head-on and work towards closing the gap to ensure equality and fairness
for all women in the workplace.

Here are some staggering facts to consider:

💰 Nationally, women are paid only 78 cents for every dollar paid to men,
resulting in a loss of more than $11,000 per year. This wage gap persists
across industries, occupations, and education levels, despite women's
equal contributions to the workforce.

💰 The financial implications of the wage gap are far-reaching, affecting
food security, childcare affordability, student loan repayment, housing,
and healthcare. For many women and families, these disparities create
significant barriers to economic stability and upward mobility.

💰 The wage gap is widest for women of color, with disparities ranging from
66 cents for Black women to as little as 49 cents for some Asian American,
Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women. These disparities exacerbate
existing inequalities and perpetuate systemic injustice.

At Battle Born Progress, we are actively working to advance fair pay
protections and policies, including raising the minimum wage, investing in
paid leave, childcare, and reproductive healthcare, and supporting
initiatives like the Paycheck Fairness Act.

But we can't do it alone. We need your support to amplify our voices,
advocate for change, and hold policymakers accountable. By joining us in
the fight for equal pay, you can help create a more just and equitable
society for women and families across Nevada and beyond.
