Good news: Ireland overwhelmingly rejects attempt to downgrade marriage and motherhood

Dear supporter,

Over the weekend Irish voters overwhelmingly rejected proposals to devalue marriage and disregard stay-at-home mums.

Two referendums to change the Irish Constitution took place. The first, to place “other durable relationships” alongside marriage was rejected by a ratio of 2:1 ([link removed]) . The change was backed by only one of 39 constituencies. The second proposed to remove the word “mothers” from the Constitution entirely. It was opposed even more strongly ([link removed]) . A resounding ‘No’ across the board.

Both proposals had been heavily backed by the coalition Government and almost all the opposition parties.

Please join with our supporters in Ireland in giving thanks to God for this remarkable result.


Please pray for the many other serious issues faced by Christians in Ireland. Pray:

* that plans to introduce euthanasia would not become law;
* that vague proposals to tackle ‘hate speech’ would not stop the expression of biblical truth.
