Friend,
Last week, in addition to ending the 2024 legislative session, we said bittersweet goodbyes to several retiring Senate Democratic members, including Senator Sam Hunt.
Sen. Hunt has been a champion for voting rights and election reform during his long tenure.
When Sen. Hunt was first elected to the State Senate in 2016, Washington was the 11th easiest state to vote in. Under his leadership, Sen. Hunt modernized Washington’s elections and passed landmark election legislation - from the Washington Voting Rights Act to online and election day voter registration, paid return postage for mailed ballots, and other innumerable contributions to making democracy accessible to Washington voters. Thanks to Sen. Hunt, Washington is now the 2nd easiest state in the country to cast your ballot.
Thank you, Senator Hunt, for your service to the people of Washington! Go Cougs!
