GIVE BLOOD More than 150,000 blood drives in the U.S. have been canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak. Hospitals are facing a severe blood shortage, so if you are healthy and able, consider donating. Click here to find out where you can give blood today. >>> SHOP FOR AT-RISK NEIGHBORS As the outbreak continues, we are all starting to run low on the food and supplies we stored up. But going to the store could expose vulnerable populations - like the elderly or immunocompromised - to the virus. If you are planning to restock, offer to pick up a few things for them, too. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES Quarantine and shelter-in-place rules are severely impacting local businesses. Help your favorite mom and pop shops weather the storm by purchasing gift cards, shopping locally when possible, leaving positive reviews online, and supporting them as much as you can. DONATE TO CHARITY If you have money you can spare, consider chipping in to a charity that will help communities affected by the coronavirus. Don’t know where to find one? Here are a few we recommend. >>> STAY HOME As much as we all hate being cooped up inside for days or weeks at a time, the quarantine rules are in place for a reason. The more we fight it, the more likely it is that the virus will continue spreading. Do yourself and everyone around you a favor - stay home. The biggest thing for us to keep in mind this week is that we’re all in this together. If we lean on each other and help out where we can, we’ll come out the other side of this even stronger.
