VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump makes startling confession live on air, deals fatal blow to own campaign
True to form, the disgraced ex-president didn't just touch the third rail of politics, he groped it. Trump was crystal clear. If given the chance, he WILL cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicare. He's saying it out loud, and he means it. A vote for Trump is a vote to slash entitlement programs. Full stop.

Biden blasts Trump for plans to cut Social Security, Medicare
The serially indicted GOP frontrunner's campaign tried to walk back the cult leader's threats to slash Social Security and Medicare after President Biden blasted him for suggesting the deeply irresponsible cuts in the first place. Trump, who exploded the national debt with trillions of dollars in bullshit tax cuts for the wealthy during his term in office, told CNBC there is "a lot you can do in terms of cutting" entitlement programs to reign in the national debt. "Not on my watch," Biden quickly responded on Twitter. Remember in November.

Ex-chief of staff repeatedly had to explain to Trump that publicly praising Hitler was a bad move
The 77-year-old grifter, who was born in 1946 and theoretically should have learned something about world history during his tony schooling in the 1950s and '60s, had to be told on numerous occasions by his then-chief of staff John Kelly that praising Adolf Hilter was a really bad idea. Seriously. On one occasion, Trump was fawning over the economy Hilter purportedly built following WWI, prompting Kelly to respond, "Sir, you can never say anything good about the guy. Nothing. I mean, Mussolini was a great guy in comparison." Ten bucks says Kelly then had to explain who Mussolini was, but we digress.
RNC firing dozens of staff after Trump leadership team takes control
Days after installing his new leadership team at the Republican National Committee, Donald Trump’s lieutenants — including his incredibly qualified and in no-way-nepotistic daughter-in-law Lara — are cutting dozens of staff across key departments in an aggressive move that further cements the disgraced ex-president’s takeover of the GOP’s political and fundraising machinery. If you're suddenly hearing Ted Nugent's incredibly annoying "Stranglehold" in the background, just know you aren't alone.

NAACP urges Black student-athletes to avoid Florida schools amid attack on DEI
NAACP leader Derrick Johnson urged Black student-athletes to "choose wisely" and reconsider attending universities in Florida amid its crackdown on DEI, which includes incredibly stupid and regressive new legislation barring schools from using federal or state funds on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Hmmm, "Choose Wisely." Kinda sounds like a Jordan Peele movie, doesn't it?

Anti-sex trafficking advocate accuses GOP Sen. Katie Britt of distorting her story
Ah, yes. Katie Britt and the story that won't quit. Karla Jacinto Romero, whose harrowing human trafficking past in Mexico led her to become a global anti-trafficking advocate, found herself at the center of a disingenuous anecdote told by Britt during the latter's disastrous SOTU rebuttal last week and apparently was none too pleased about it. Romero lambasted the Alabama Republican, called the use of her story "distorted for political purposes," and said this episode is precisely why she rarely cooperates with politicians — because "they only want an image...and that to me is not fair." Oh, Britt got her image out, we just aren't sure it was the one she intended.

Trader Joe’s threatened Louisville workers ahead of union vote, feds allege
Prosecutors at the National Labor Relations Board say Trader Joe’s illegally interrogated workers and threatened to take away their pay raises when they were trying to form a union last year. The alleged threats came in the run-up to a January 2023 election at a Louisville, Kentucky, store where workers voted in favor of joining a new union, Trader Joe’s United. The company has challenged the election results by claiming the union illegally influenced the vote. But according to the complaint filed on Monday, an assistant store manager threatened workers with the loss of their raises as well as "a loss of flexibility with taking days off and scheduling work" if they voted for the union. It also alleges the company forced workers to "participate in one-on-one conversations" meant to hurt the union’s support. Despite the pressure campaign, the vote succeeded. Solidarity forever!
Florida teachers can now discuss sexual orientation and gender ID under Ron DeSantis' "Don't Say Gay" bill settlement
Students and teachers can once again discuss sexual orientation and gender identity in Florida classrooms, provided it’s not part of instruction, under a settlement reached Monday between Florida education officials and civil rights attorneys. Under the terms of the settlement, the Florida Board of Education will send instructions to every school district saying the Florida law doesn’t prohibit discussing LGBTQ+ people, nor prevent anti-bullying rules on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity or disallow Gay-Straight Alliance groups. The settlement also spells out that the law is neutral — meaning what applies to LGBTQ+ people also applies to heterosexual people — which was never actually in question in the first place, but whatever, must appease and assure those whose rights were never threatened that they are, in fact, still not threatened! What a wonderful use of taxpayer dollars this exercise in anti-queer grandstanding has been. Bang up job, Ron. Well done.
Trump goes on incomprehensible rant about TikTok
Pressed on his abrupt and curious flip flop on banning TikTok in the United States, the disgraced ex-president gave a bumbling, incoherent answer filled with blanket praise for himself and disdain for literally everyone else with a seat at the table. “I could have banned TikTok. I had it banned just about, I could have got that done. But I said, ‘You know what? But I'll leave it up to [Congress].’ I didn't push them too hard because, you know, let them do their own research and development, and they decided not to do it. But as you know, I was at the point where I could have gotten it done if I wanted to. I sort of said, ‘You guys decide, you make that decision.’ Because it’s a tough decision to make.” Did you get all that? But sure, let's talk about Biden's speech issues and supposed cognitive decline.
Ex-special counsel Robert Hur quits DOJ, will testify before House as private citizen with help from Trumpworld figures
Robert Hur, the former Trump-appointed US attorney who declined to prosecute President Biden after classified materials were found in his Delaware home and a former office in Washington, DC, will appear before the House Judiciary Committee as a private citizen who has conveniently surrounded himself with Republican partisans and notorious figures linked to disgraced ex-president. If it squawks and talks like a Steve Bannon-orchestrated smear job, it is one...
