Daily Docket — Monday, March 11

Here are some recent updates.

  • While Kari Lake continues to challenge her loss from the Arizona governor race in 2022, she is making a strong attempt to rehabilitate her far-right image as she runs for Senate. But one thing remains true: Lake will always be an election denier. Read more here.

  • Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) vetoed a bill requiring the state to rejoin ERIC, a nonpartisan group that helps states maintain accurate voter rolls.

    • Youngkin withdrew Virginia from ERIC in May 2023 after right-wing conspiracies targeted the group.

    • Virginia is one of at least nine red states to drop their participation in the program after an article from the right-wing blog the Gateway Pundit took aim at ERIC, claiming without evidence that the organization is funded by liberal billionaire George Soros and seeks to remove Republican voters from the voter rolls in swing states.

Here’s what to expect tomorrow.

  • The U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary will hold a hearing on the recently reintroduced John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
