While everyone here in the United States is rightly focused on our own public health crisis, we cannot turn a blind eye to the ongoing crisis caused around the world by Donald Trump.
Trump's Global Gag Rule has caused clinics in developing countries to lose about $153 million in funding. Many health care providers have cut back services, laid off staff, and even shut their doors.
Reproductive health care is always critical, and cutting these essential services during a global pandemic compounds the suffering that many are experiencing.
To make matters worse, the Trump administration has blocked all funding for UNFPA, an international agency that supports family planning and reproductive health programs in more than 150 countries, and is a frontline provider for disaster relief.
