Good afternoon Young Democrats,

Are you interested in representing California as a delegate to the DNC National Convention in Chicago this August 19 - 22, 2024? If so, please register now ([link removed]) and join us tomorrow, Tuesday, March 12th at 6pm on Zoom for a forum with DNC Members Christine Pelosi and Rhodesia Ransom to discuss and answer questions on how you can run to represent California as delegate. Join us for this online forum ([link removed]) , and check-out the California Democratic Party website for more information ([link removed]) on the national convention. March 21st at 5pm is the deadline to file to run to be a district level delegate!

Also, you can still register to join us ([link removed]) for the 2024 CYD Post-Primary Organizing Retreat presented by the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) in Lake Tahoe, April 5 - 7, 2024. We will be sharing more information on the Retreat agenda this week, including exciting guest speakers to debrief the March 5th Primary election results, organizing workshops, receptions, caucus meetings, the CYD Olympics, and much more! 2024 CYD Post-Primary Organizing Retreat presented by the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) ([link removed]) LODGING INFORMATION

A room block has been secured at the Bally’s Lake Tahoe along with significantly discounted rates for participants. Bally’s is going to concentrate all CYD members on a couple of floors. Rooms must be booked by Friday, March 22nd to get CYD’s negotiated rates. Please book now! ([link removed])

Rates are $119.00 on Friday, April 5th, and $149.00 on Saturday, April 6th, not inclusive of resort fees and taxes, but negotiated to include parking and up to 4 people per room. Total cost for the weekend for one room with up to 4 people is $377.08 with all taxes and fees. These rates are for Classic 2 Queen Bed or Classic 1 Kind Bed hotel rooms with up-to quad (4) occupancy.

Book your rooms by calling Bally’s reservations department at: (775) 588-3515 ext. 3015 and provide the group code “STCY24” or the group name California Young Democrats.

Or book your room online, but if you have 3 or 4 individuals in the room only select 2 because there is a bug with their reservations site, at: [link removed] ([link removed])

If you book online and select 3 or 4 people in a single room, prices will incorrectly show higher. We can fix this after the fact; however, we suggest booking via phone or only selecting 1 or 2 people if booking online to make sure you pay the proper rate with a total of $377.08.

Chapter Organizing Grants: The CYD Executive Board approved a grant program to support CYD chapters needing financial assistance for organizing and growing chapter membership and participation. CYD chapters raising and spending less than $6,000 annually are encouraged to apply for a grant up to $250 to boost your chapter membership organizing efforts! Carefully review details and apply now for a 2024 CYD Chapter Membership Building Grant ([link removed]) !

Fundraising Help: CYD is offering regional fundraising consultation workshops via Zoom with CYD’s Executive Director in order to help brainstorm and maximize your fundraising success. Reach out to your CYD Regional Director ([link removed]) to schedule a Zoom workshop, especially if you’re planning or have an upcoming chapter fundraising event!
