Dear Friend,
In the last few days I’ve spoken in Seattle and Vancouver, Washington, and in Atlanta, Georgia. All the events gave me an opportunity to speak to people about the most important issues facing America today, and what I feel that we should do about them.
I begin each talk by saying “Look, I realize that President Biden is probably going to have the nomination locked on Tuesday. But I’m staying in the campaign through the rest of the primary calendar because I believe our ideas should be in the conversation. In fact I think that they’re essential.” |
There’s a reason why there has been a historically low voter turnout in the primaries so far — and we all know what it is: There is no real excitement.
The majority of Americans have made it clear that they don't want a Trump-Biden rematch. A real Democratic primary was denied us, as we know.
More significantly, that lack of excitement doesn’t bode well for Democrats in November. But as long as I'm in this campaign, people know they can vote for an agenda that provides inspiration and hope for the American people.
I know someone in the Biden team is listening to what we're saying. And how do I know? Because my language is making it into the President’s speeches! That’s a start, but I don’t want to stop until my policies make it into his speeches, too. And with your help we can make that happen. |
As long as we’re gaining votes, we’re gaining the power to be heard. The power to make a difference. The power to contribute.
After my talk at the Hillside International Truth Center in Atlanta yesterday, Bishop Jack Bomar said to me, “Stay in it all the way through.” Some of you might feel different from him. And I respect that. But for those of you who feel, “No, there’s a reason to keep going. She needs to stay in,” then I respect that too. And I hope you will help me do it.
When I unsuspended my campaign, I did so because I realized something much bigger than the horse race is going on here. The truth must be told, and I know in my heart we are laying it down. We cannot stop. There's a genuine magic in the air at my campaign events. We need that magic to continue and to grow until we change the country for the better. |
