Spring trout stocking schedule announced
New opportunities to catch rainbow trout are headed your way. Nebraska Game and Parks is releasing trout in waters statewide this spring.
It began March 9, opening day of the Trout Lake at Two Rivers State Recreation Area in Douglas County. See the link below for regulations at this lake, as well as dates of other planned stockings.

Join Game and Parks' virtual fisheries discussion
Hear updates on fishing in your area and interact with Game and Parks fisheries staff during virtual meetings March 18-21.
These four regional public informational sessions ? one for each Game and Parks Fisheries district ? will provide local updates on the fishing outlook and special projects near you.
These meetings are informal and interactive, with the chance for questions, dialogue and feedback. All meetings will be hosted through Zoom.

Join the Midwest Walleye Challenge
Looking for a challenge? Enter a new kind of fishing tournament in Nebraska, the Midwest Walleye Challenge.
This challenge will give anglers in states across the Midwest a chance to compete for prizes while collecting important data for biologists. The Nebraska challenge will run March 30 to June 30.

Fishing pier to be built at Two Rivers Trout Lake
A fishing pier is being built at the Two Rivers State Recreation Area Lake No. 5 (Trout Lake). The pier is designed for anglers to fish in deeper water while also providing accessibility to all anglers. Stay tuned for news about a dedication taking place later this spring.?

Become a certified youth fishing instructor
If you love to fish, do something amazing and pass on that passion to the next generation: Become a youth fishing instructor.
Nebraska Game and Parks will certify youth fishing instructors at workshops across the state in the coming months. Instructors are part of the Youth Fishing Program, a statewide team of volunteers and Game and Parks staff who host educational fishing events.

Deadline extended for youth fish art contest
Good news for young artists: The deadline has been extended for the Nebraska Fish Art Contest, and new activities are available for participants.
The 2024 contest, sponsored by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Wildlife Forever and Bass Pro Shops, now is accepting entries through March 31, 2024. Spread the word and encourage a young artist to enter!
