It has been a busy week on Capitol Hill, and I wanted to take the time to fill you in on everything that has happened. This week, Joe Biden delivered the State of the Union address, and ultimately failed at addressing the biggest crises facing our country.   

I also had the pleasure of meeting with the Murray County Chamber. I always look forward to seeing my constituents and learning how I can best represent them.

This week, Joe Biden gave the State of the Union address. The state of the union is Laken Riley. America has been and continues to be under attack due to Joe Biden’s purposeful failure to keep Americans safe. Under Joe Biden’s watch, countless Americans have been murdered due to an open border that has welcomed criminals, drugs, and crime.  

It is clear that Joe Biden is not fit to serve as our President and does not have what it takes to keep Americans safe.  

Joe must GO!

This week, the House passed the Laken Riley Act. 

It was an honor to cosponsor and vote in support of this legislation to recognize Laken’s memory and condemn the Biden Administration's deadly open border policies. This piece of legislation will specifically amend federal law to require Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to issue detainers and take custody of illegal aliens who commit theft-related crimes, such as shoplifting, as defined by state and local law. 

I'm outraged that five Georgia Democrats voted against the Laken Riley Act. What an absolute disgrace!

The Office of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is seeking interns for her office in Washington, DC. Applicants should be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills, and have interest in learning more about the legislative process. Start and end dates are flexible. Georgia ties are preferred, but not required. This is a paid position and college credit can be earned.

Interns will work in three different interest tracks:

• Policy: Interns will work closely with the Congresswoman’s legislative team. Tasks include answering phones, assisting with legislative research, processing constituent mail, attending policy briefings, and additional tasks to aid the legislative team.
  
  
• Communications: Interns will work closely with the Congresswoman’s communications team. Tasks include answering phones, compiling daily press and broadcast clips, organizing, maintaining, and updating media lists, drafting press releases, assisting with social media, and additional tasks to aid the communications team. Experience with the Adobe Suite is required.
  
  
• Administrative: Interns will work closely with the scheduler and staff assistants to complete tasks that are essential for day-to-day office organization. These include answering phones, compiling contact lists, processing constituent mail, leading Capitol tours, completing flag requests, drafting constituent correspondence, and assisting with weekly reports.
