Yesterday marked Abortion Care Provider Appreciation Day, which began in 1996 as a way to honor the life of Dr. David Gunn, an abortion provider who was murdered by an anti-abortion extremist.

While that happened nearly 30 years ago, the vilification of abortion care providers is still happening today. Extreme Republicans continue to make a scapegoat out of abortion providers and criminalize their work.

As their anti-abortion agenda ramps up, we must band together and protect the people who will feel the brunt of the GOP’s next attack.
