Supporting our military service members and their families and has always been a top priority for Pete and Team Visclosky.

That is why, in the Fiscal Year 2020 Defense Appropriations Act, Pete made a concerted effort to focus on the well-being, personal safety, and morale of those in uniform and their families.

For example, as Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, Pete included the following provisions in the legislation that recently passed the House:

A 3.1 percent pay raise for women and men in uniform -- the largest pay raise since 2010;

Over $70 million in funding for childcare facilities, so that every service-member has access to affordable and quality childcare on their base;

Increased funding for sexual assault response and prevention programs that provide treatment and counseling for sexual assault victims;

A new set of environmental standards to help ensure safe drinking water in defense communities.
