March is Women's History Month, an annual celebration of women's essential and sweeping contributions to society. At the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we're observing this important month by taking a closer look at the particular ways women are impacted by mental health and suicide, and by spotlighting women experts in the fields of psychology and suicide prevention.

This Thursday, March 14 at 3pm ET, you can also tune into the latest Ask Dr. Jill, in which we will be taking questions about women’s mental health. For this special episode, AFSP Senior Vice President of Research Dr. Jill Harkavy-Friedman will be joined by Dr. Maureen Zalewski, an AFSP research grant recipient who is the director of clinical training and an associate professor at the University of Oregon.
From motherhood, to daughterhood, to the emotional impact of women’s place in society and other psychological considerations that impact women –– including any questions you send in on this important topic –– we hope you’ll join us for an enlightening conversation on supporting women’s mental health.
