Two years ago, the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade. Overnight, abortion clinics across the country were forced to close their doors and cease providing critical health care services.

And that was just the beginning. A few weeks ago, the Alabama state Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos can be considered unborn children under state law, immediately prompting Alabama’s health system to pause IVF treatments for fear of prosecution.

Donald Trump himself takes credit for the downfall of Roe v. Wade. News reports say he’s now considering enacting a national abortion ban if he wins. If that happens, the number of heartbreaking stories we hear about women frantically searching for basic reproductive health care will keep growing.

That’s what the stakes of this election are: protecting fundamental rights, reproductive freedom, and the lives of millions of Americans.
