Last week, Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) voted on a budget package that secured over $14,000,000 for projects in California’s Sixth Congressional District. These projects will get vital resources to support non-profits, community centers, infrastructure upgrades, parks, and more in Sacramento County.
“I am incredibly pleased to vote to support these vital projects that will have a profound impact on California’s 6th District,” said Congressman Bera. “These projects are investments in modernizing our infrastructure, building affordable housing, and ensuring all residents have access to clean water. I was proud to sponsor and support these requests that will make a real difference in the lives of so many in our community. This bipartisan funding package is another example of making government work for the people. I look forward to President Biden quickly signing this bill into law so we can bring this critical funding home to make Sacramento County healthier, safer, and stronger.”
Rep. Bera championed funding for 14 projects that will directly benefit California’s Sixth Congressional District residents. These projects include:
- $500,000 for American River Parkway Trail Safety Renovation
- $500,000 for Arden/Del Paso SacRT Station Modernization
- $850,000 for CARE Community Center Sacramento Facility
- $959,752 for Carmichael Water District for Garfield Ave. Transmission Pipeline Replacement Project
- $1,616,279 for Citrus Heights Intelligent Transportation System Enhancements
- $1,050,000 for Citrus Heights Sayonara Drive Housing Project
- $959,752 for the City of Sacramento for Groundwater Well #168 Project
- $2,400,000 for Hub in the Heights
- $1,000,000 for Johnston Park Renovation
- $1,000,000 for Mather Veterans Village Phase 4
- $1,000,000 for North Sacramento Adult Day Program Facility
- $1,000,000 for Sacramento Food Bank Distribution Vehicle Expansion
- $500,000 for Statewide and Regional Rescue Training Facility
- $1,000,000 for Zinfandel First Responder Training Facility Emergency Vehicle Operations Course
These final bipartisan funding bills will help keep our communities safe, address the climate crisis, combat inflation, and bolster our economy. Taken together, the funding for California’s 6th District combined with the funding increases for critical government programs will continue to grow our local economy and support Sacramento County communities.
