Giuliani definitely doesn't want to sue Trump for $2 million — his creditors might make him do it anyway
The disgraced ex-mayor and remarkably ineffectual hatchet man is facing a mountain of legal and financial woes — in large part for the many outlandish, moronic acts he engaged in on behalf of Donald Trump. And so, in a poetic twist chock-full of sweet schadenfreude, he could be compelled by his creditors to sue the disgraced ex-president to cover his bills. Get in line now, Rudy. Donnie owes a LOT of people a LOT of money.

Leaked audio shows No Labels has zero idea if it will find a candidate
The so-called "centrist" group No Labels held a vote of delegates Friday and announced plans to move forward in seeking candidates for a futile, third-party presidential run, but audio of the call on which the vote was held suggests another interpretation may be more accurate: the group really has no idea whether it will be able to move forward at all. It still appears stuck in the same position as before. No candidates appear interested, and there’s no sign that this is changing. Joe Manchin said no. Larry Hogan said no. Nikki Haley said no. Your aunt in Wisconsin said no. That one crypto bro from Hoboken with the sketchy LinkedIn job description said no. For all the chatter about fielding a third-party consensus candidate who could viably compete in the general election, the truth is painfully clear — no self-serious political figure is champing at the bit to help usher in a cataclysmic second Trump presidency, which is precisely what could happen if the bozos bankrolling No Labels have there way.

Netanyahu vows to defy Biden’s "red line" on Rafah siege
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he intends to press ahead with an invasion of the city of Rafah on the southern border of the Gaza Strip in defiance of President Biden, who has warned such an offensive would be a "red line." Amid signs of increasing frustration with Netanyahu, Biden said that he opposed an escalation of the conflict into Rafah, and that he could not accept "30,000 more Palestinians dead." Relief organizations have warned that an attack on Rafah on the border with Egypt — now a refuge for about half of Gaza's 2.3 million population — would result in widespread civilian casualties. Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said it would be "a humanitarian catastrophe." Undeterred, Netanyahu responded, "We'll go there. We're not going to leave them. You know, I have a red line. You know what the red line is? That October 7 doesn't happen again. Never happens again." The Palestinian death toll in the brutal, five-month-long war has surpassed 31,000 with another 72,000 injured.

US conservative thinktank’s links to extremist fraternal order exposed
Well, well, well. What do we have here? The president of the right-wing Claremont Institute and another senior Claremont official are both intimately involved with the shadowy Society for American Civic Renewal (SACR), an exclusive, incredibly problematic, men-only fraternal order which aims to replace the US government with an authoritarian, Christian nationalist “aligned regime," which is precisely as scary and seditious as it sounds. In addition to mutual thought leaders and board members, the SACR and the somehow slightly more palatable Claremont Institute share other things in common, like an irrational hatred for multiculturalism and steadfast commitment to waging an “anti-DEI crusade” against diversity, equity, and inclusion measures in educational institutions, corporations, and public agencies alike. But sure, liberals are the snowflakes.

Katie Britt tries to defend sex-trafficking story she falsely linked to Biden presidency
In her first interview since delivering her widely ridiculed and incredibly weird rebuttal to President Biden's State of the Union speech, Republican Sen. Katie Britt refused to apologize for invoking a story about child rape that she implied resulted from the president’s handling of the ongoing challenges at the southern US border — even though the abuse she cited occurred decades earlier in Mexico when George W. Bush was president. Sex trafficking is quite clearly a scourge on global society, and Karla Jacinto Romero's story — which the activist shared before Congress nine years ago, detailing the excruciating pain and suffering she endured at the hands of sex traffickers who held her captive between the ages of 12 and 16 in her native Mexico — must not be silenced, but Britt's nakedly political, ham-fisted attempt to somehow link Romero's plight nearly 20 years ago to Joe Biden's presidency would be laughable if it weren't so deeply offensive. Yes, we have complex challenges at the southern border. And yes, sex trafficking is a shameful stain on modern society — the world over. But, senator, let's please leave theater to the professionals and show a little more respect for warriors like Romero who've overcome the unimaginable.

GOP operative accused of sexual torture and murder in Alabama
An Alabama politico who worked on multiple GOP campaigns and led a local Young Republicans chapter is accused of sexually torturing and murdering another man. Kyle Hayden Lewter, 36, was charged with killing Derek Franklin Walls, 54, during a "physical alteration" last Thursday in Madison County, Alabama. "The victim and offender knew each other and got into a physical altercation that resulted in the victim being injured," police said. "It appears he died as a result of those injuries." Authorities didn’t say how the fight escalated or why the men crossed paths; Walls was found dead at a residence about 20 minutes outside of Huntsville, Alabama. Lewter was initially held on bond for Walls’ murder only, but authorities later added the sexual torture charge after determining he had used an inanimate object to sexually abuse Walls. Lewter is now reportedly being held on $60,000 bail.

US Democratic groups vow to fight pro-Israel lobby
26 progressive groups have launched a new coalition, "Reject AIPAC," pledging to help any Democratic candidates who find themselves on the Israel lobby's lengthy hit list. AIPAC has been remarkably aggressive in deploying huge sums of dark money against any and all progressives who call for a ceasefire in Israel's brutal war against Gaza or dare to publicly criticize Israel's appalling human rights record, boosting Republicans and attempting to sway races to the right — and it's well past time the left started fighting back.
