During his State of the Union Address last Thursday night, President Biden highlighted the historic achievements that he and Democrats have delivered to expand access to affordable broadband, lower costs, help make our communities safer, and defend fundamental freedoms.

I was honored to have Milton Perez join me for this special moment. It's success stories like Milton's that exemplify the work Democrats and President Biden are doing to fight for everyday Americans.

After living in NYC shelters for five years, Milton moved into permanent housing thanks to the benefits of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which helps nearly 23 million American households pay for their internet bill. Milton also used his access to the internet to help his peers find housing as well.

Whether you're in a rural or urban area, red or blue state, every community needs high-speed internet. That's why I introduced the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act to save the ACP and help ensure progress in closing the digital divide.
