TikTok Published Monday, March 11, 2024 A note from OCPAC FOUNDATION PRESIDENT BOB LINN Shielding Young Minds from Ideological Warfare Last week at the Oklahoma History Center, our foundation featured the bold and courageous delegates who represented Oklahoma at the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) convention in Oklahoma City last year. These women told the story of how they helped organize other like-minded members of the NFRW to foil an effort to install a man who dresses as a woman into national leadership. This was on the heels of the weekend that Oklahoma schools made some embarrassing national news. On March 2nd, the New York Post broke the story of Oklahoma’s Deer Creek School District’s salacious fundraiser. Boys licking peanut butter off girls. Both these stories uncovered events most Americans consider appalling. The root is America’s cultural collapse. Culture is shaped by family, church, and a variety of institutions who shape the minds of our children. The "variety" of institutions include both those who have made their intent obvious as well as the platforms which represent much more subtle assaults on the American mind. FRONTAL ASSAULT THE AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION REPRESENTS AN OBVIOUS FRONTAL ASSAULT ON AMERICAN YOUTH The Revolution to destroy historic American values and to re-shape the nation employs many diverse approaches to the minds of our youth. In that regard, the American Library Association has been unashamed to make public their intent to execute a revolution in America through the minds of our children. Emily Drabinski became president of the American Library Association in July of 2023. She is a Marxist with plans to make sure that the LBGTQ community see themselves reflected in the books on their library shelves. In addition to the obvious impact of schools and libraries is a wide array of much more subtle media formats including social media platforms, entertainment, journalism, advertising, and more. ASSAULT ON THE MIND BY STEALTH THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY IS ENGAGED IN A CLANDESTINE APPROACH TO THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE AMERICAN MIND Joining the revolution in America is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The CCP has introduced to the shores of America (and the rest of the globe as well) the nefarious revolutionary social media strategy we call TikTok. In November of 2018, comedian Jimmy Fallon introduced to America a new social media platform called TikTok. It has been called the CCP’s digital dopamine supermachine. According to Peter Schweizer, author of Blood Money: The addictive quality of TikTok is remarkable, even when compared to other apps such as Facebook or Instagram. There are close to one billion users of TikTok around the world. On average, users in America spend close to an hour and a half on the platform, by far more time than spent on Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. The TikTok app was produced by ByteDance, headquarted in Beijing. Beijing is the epicenter of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In addition to TikTok, ByteDance co-founded the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence. More than 130 Communist Party members hold management positions at ByteDance. The director of ByteDance is a former member of the People’s Daily, the central paper of the CCP. Zhang Yiming, founder of ByteDance, is under CCP control. He has pledged his allegiance to Xi Jinping’s “four consciousnesses” and the CCP’s socialist core values. ByteDance has positioned TikTok as a parent-free platform. Unlike Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, the child’s use of TikTok cannot be monitored by the parent. In his book, Tyrants on Twitter, Law professor David L. Sloss states: TikTok’s algorithmic design makes it an ideal tool for disseminating CCP propaganda. Paul Dabrowa is an artificial intelligence expert in Australia, NASA consultant, and a student of propaganda and persuasion. Testifying before the Australian Senate, he said: TikTok . . . has the capacity to create a user-specific profile of individual’s fears and anxieties, learning which stimuli are likely to trigger desired responses and behaviors. It could then utilize addictive principles and implement stimuli that compel young adults to spend hours scrolling on their phone, purchasing products, or join political movements. In his book, The Final Struggle: Inside China’s Global Strategy, Ian Easton, a professor at the U.S. Naval War College, quotes from a Chinese military text: The crumbling of a regime always starts in the realm of ideas . . . Political upheaval and the toppling of a regime could occur in a single night. But changing the way people think is a long-term process. Once the front lines of human thought have been broken through, other defensive lines also become hard to defend . . . The battle for “mind control” happens on a smokeless battlefield. It happens inside the domain of ideology. Whoever controls this battlefield can win hearts. They will have the initiative throughout the competition and combat. The book then quotes CCP President, XI Jinping: When it comes to combat in the ideology domain, we don’t have any room for compromise or retreat. We must achieve total victory. Major General PK Mallik (China in the Cyber Domain) states: The ultimate goal is to manipulate a country’s values and achieve strategic goals without an actual covert military battle. The Art of War, a fifth century document attributed to Sun Tzu introduced the concept to win without fighting. Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win. The greatest victory is that which requires no battle. These are concepts not lost on the CPP. Ideas are, in the end, the product of our most fundamental perspective on things. In this sense, Psalm One is foundational. It makes clear that a frame of reference outside the revealed Word of God leads to the fraternization with those who will, in the end, be nothing more than the chaff of history to be swept away by the hands of time. Our only hope for an ideology that nurtures societies the world over is in the realm of divine transcendence. It is a realm the CCP, the current leadership of the American Library Association, and all others who hold fast to a materialistic, atheistic secularism seek to obliterate as they focus on world domination. Leftists the world over have always imagined they can emulate the sublimity of the Garden of Eden which was fashioned by God himself. Instead, the efforts of far-left secularism have resulted in nothing close to a paradise. The fruit of Leftism (Marxism, socialism, etc.) has been, for hundreds of millions under its ideological prison, Hell on earth. Our next meeting is on March 20 when we will present the most potent solution to the China problem: Educational Freedom & School Choice.
