For two years, Spanish oil company Repsol has rejected any responsibility
for Peru's worst environmental disaster.

But now, victims of the oil spill are taking the oil giant to court to
demand justice. And we can help them win!

Repsol: clean up and pay for your mess!

John,

In 2022, Spanish company Repsol caused the worst environmental disaster
ever in Peru by spilling over 11,000 barrels of oil.

The oil turned the beaches black and suffocated marine life in an area
almost twice the size of Manhattan – killing countless precious animal
species. Yet, two years later, Repsol still refutes any wrongdoing.

34,000 victims, including fishermen and restaurant owners whose
livelihoods have been taken away by Repsol’s dirty spill, are now taking
Repsol to court. If we all get together to hold Repsol accountable, we can
force the company to clean up its mess... Are you in?

caused!

Repsol did everything to hide its dirty spill. Repsol delayed the
notification of the accident and issued wrong information about the spill
and its magnitude – placing its interests before protecting the health and
safety of local communities and the environment.

Insider documents prove that Repsol never accounted for a potential oil
spill and didn’t even have an emergency plan. It proves again that the oil
giant does not care about people or the planet and is solely driven by its
greed for profit.

For too long, companies from the Global North have used Latin America as
its laboratory, coming to extract natural resources from which they profit
and then leaving a mess for the local population to clean up. But that
exploitative business practice ends here.

The power of the Ekō community has made many big companies change its
harmful behaviour. When we come together, we make companies that seem
untouchable pay the right price. Today, we can hold Repsol accountable for
its mess!
