Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and heightened compassion for others. It is within this sacred framework that I reach out to you today, extending heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of Muslims for Progressive Values (MPV).
Throughout our journey, MPV has been dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and progressive understanding of Islam. Your contributions have allowed us to make a meaningful impact, from challenging stereotypes to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities within the Muslim world. As we embark on another year of transformative work, we invite you to participate in our Ramadan fundraising campaign by supporting the Muslim Mosaic Musical Project. Through this project, MPV will convene local scholars, cultural producers, activists, musicians, and nonprofit representatives in an exploration of how music manifests in existing Muslim communities across the United States, and how Muslim American cultural producers understand and interpret their various diverse traditions in the musical work they listen to, create, and produce. This project will culminate in a staged event for the Los Angeles public featuring a panel discussion fused with musical performances that feature a diverse and rare glimpse into the inner workings of Muslim American musical cultures.
