On Wednesday, Governor Carney delivered his final State of the State Address. The Governor used it as an opportunity to highlight many of the accomplishments of the past seven years and to talk about the work still left to do. He talked about the progress being made across Delaware, with a focus on significant improvements in the city of Wilmington.
The Carney administration has championed state investments in public safety and gun violence prevention, in affordable housing and in our public schools. These investments, which include the Maurice Prichett, Sr. Academy, the first new school built in Wilmington in over a half century, have made Wilmington a better place to live and raise a family.
The Governor ended his speech by saying he intends serve out his term strongly and to leave it all out on the field, as the sports expression goes. As we continue to build this campaign for Mayor, we know that it will take all of Team Carney to run this race through the finish line. And we will need the help of lots of contributors and volunteers. Already, we’ve seen an outpouring of support, but we still have a lot of work to do and we need your help.
