I’m proud to stand beside him in the fight to end gun violence

John, when I first ran for Congress, gun safety was something leaders used to shy away from. As the mother of Jordan Davis, the teenager gunned down in the Loud Music shooting, whenever there is a shooting, it brings back memories of losing my son. I yearned for a day when our leaders stood up to change our reckless gun laws. So you can imagine how much it meant to me last week to see President Joe Biden renew his call for an assault weapons ban and universal background checks.

I am so proud that President Joe Biden has stood by this gun safety movement. Just two years ago, I joined him in fighting to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, expanding background checks and funding states to establish red flag laws. Just last year, the President built upon our accomplishments to establish the first Office of Gun Violence Prevention to expand our coordination at the federal level.

As a mom, I know the heartbreak of losing a loved one, and I refuse to stop fighting until no parent ever has to bury their own child again. We’re in this fight together, so would you split a donation between me and Joe Biden’s re-election campaign to put gun safety at the top of the ballot this November →

DONATE

Common-sense gun safety is how we protect classrooms, neighborhoods, and public places. However, Republicans are stalling our efforts to ensure guns stay out of the hands of those who pose a risk to others or themselves.

There’s a lot at stake if people like Mike Johnson gain even more power after the 2024 election. Split a donation between me and President Biden right now to fight back.

Thanks,

Lucy McBath
