Africa

• Thank God for our continued warm relationship with the investigative agencies and prosecutors in Kenya, the key government leaders who will be able to bring an end to police abuse. Pray for these agencies and the decision-makers and leaders in them. We currently have several police abuse cases stuck waiting for a decision on charges, so pray that they would be able to move forward so that justice can be done.

Latin America

• Please continue praying for full healing for all women and children survivors of sexual violence, sex trafficking and other types of violence that our teams in Latin America support every day. Pray that they are able to recover from trauma and build healthy relationships that help them thrive. Pray that their processes of restoration will be an encouragement for other victims around them to break the silence and reach out for help. Pray that when they do reach out for help, local authorities and our trained partners will respond quickly to protect them.

South Asia

• Please pray we could get approval from the government for several training and partnership ideas in our anti-sex trafficking offices. IJM has pitched collaborative trainings on policing techniques, aftercare standards and other critical functions. We generally have great relationships with these government bodies, but getting official approvals sometimes moves very slowly through the bureaucracy. Pray officials would see the exciting potential of these initiatives and green-light us quickly so we can make progress this year.

Southeast Asia

• Praise God for the successful training of local authorities and community leaders in the Kratie province of Cambodia. The district where the training took place sees a high volume of trafficking cases. The training equipped commune chiefs, local police officers, the Commune Committee for Women and Children, social workers, village leaders and religious leaders in that district to identify and report labor trafficking cases, as well as to support survivors in their communities. Pray for these leaders to be able to better protect vulnerable people in their communities.
